So Firefox 3 finally made it to the self-updater. Would you recommend the upgrade from 2.0.0.16? Thanks!

Definitely. I rarely used FF2, but FF3 has supplemented Maxthon/IE6 as my new primary browser.

FF3 was too slow on my system and it would freeze up periodically. I switched to Opera and have never been happier with a browser.

I would recommmed that you install FF3 alongside FF2 to try it out first before upgrading.

What made you change your mind? I love all the plug-ins for my FF2, but the memory leak is fascinatingly resilient. It's not so bad, but leave it on for more than 2-3 days creates a monster taking up half a gig of memory.

Performance. FF3 is faster than FF2, and I haven't noticed any memory issues. In any case, it takes about 10 seconds to close and reopen FF3 if there is a memory leak.

I've been much happier with FF3 than I was with FF2. Made me switch from Opera to FF.

the only real complaint that i have about ff3 is that it won't let you ignore certificate errors. for example, if you go to site.com and the cert is for www.site.com, it forces you to add an exception. it also does that when the certificate is self-issued, rather than from a root cert authority. it's obviously erring on the side of security, but it's still frustrating at times.

yep ... as long as your addons are supported. Many still aren't.

Too lazy to look myself, is there a list anywhere showing which ones are supported already?
