We purchased one in June that goes outside (facing east-sun) that runs the length of our sliding glass door. We mounted under the eaves of the roof, closer to the gutters rather than the house and slider. It's held up well although I just admit that we haven't had that hot of a summer. It did a great job of diffusing the direct sunlight. On occasion it would get wet from the sprinkler and I noticed no problems, but we didn't roll it up until it was dry. We do plan to take it down and store it over the winter in the garage, rather than keeping it outside.
H/D didn't have a huge selection of colors--light gray and dark tan, I believe. I could be wrong but I think the warranty is 3 years.
