Hi,

I'm looking for suggestions on scar reduction without counting things like laser surgery...I'm talking about creams or gels, like medera, neosporin, etc.
Surgery scar on the arm, about 3 inches long.

What has been everyone's experience with these products?
Which is best?
Which is most cost effective?

My pedi told me to do the same thing as the above op. I was able to find it in a liquid for about $9.00, which compared to the $20.00 "scar treatment" sold in drugstores, is a pretty good deal. We also put a high spf on it too. The doc said it will take about a year. We are only 2 months into it so I don't know how well it has worked yet.

There are multiple studies that show Vitamin E does NOT improve the appearance scars. In fact most studies showed it actually made things worse (contact dermatitis). Sorry. A lot of small wounds will heal over time will little noticeable scarring but you will always have some noticeable scarring in your arm.

I just made sure no sun got to my scar. Use a broad spectrum SPF, and it should be less noticeable in time. Mine took about... one and a half years.
