I got this email from my trendnet antenna rebate. It was in my Junk folder. If anyone missed it be carefull cashing the checks.

Dear Valued Customer,

This is an official email from TRENDnet.

Please note that a mail-in-rebate check that was recently mailed to you by a 3rd party company, on behalf of TRENDnet, will BOUNCE if you try to cash this check. This issue came to our attention today and we are taking immediate action to ensure that you receive your mail-in-rebate refund.

Why will your mail-in-rebate check bounce?

Please note that a 3rd party rebate processing company (legally we cannot disclose the company name at this point) was contracted to issue you your mail-in-rebate check. This 3rd party company is experiencing financial difficulties and the funds provided to them, by TRENDnet, are no longer available. We apologize for any inconvenience, delay or confusion this may cause. We are doing everything in our power to rectify the situation immediately.

We are taking immediate corrective actions to change our mail-in-rebate provider to ensure that this never happens again. We are committed to ensure that you receive your refund in a timely manner and that you will have full confidence in TRENDnet running into the future.

How to get your mail-in-rebate:

Don't cash the mail-in-rebate check you have received (it will bounce)
If you have not yet received the check, remember not to cash it once you do get it in the mail
Make a photocopy of the check for your records
Mail the original check to TRENDnet headquarters along with a printout of this email.
Mail the check to: (for your reference: our headquarter address can be confirmed on our website at www.trendnet.com)
TRENDnet
Mail-In-Rebate Check Rectification
20675 Manhattan Place
Torrance, CA 90501 USA

TRENDnet will immediately mail back to you a new check that you can cash at any time
Additional Questions:

Please email rebatequestion@trendnet.com if you have any questions or concerns about the process or your mail-in-rebate check.

Rest assured that we are doing everything in our power to correct this unfortunate occurrence immediately.

We apologize again for any inconvenience.

Sincerely,
TRENDnet

Yes it is rebatestatus.

This could be a big concern if rebatestatus won't be able to pay out their rebates. In a discussion here, someone also noticed that Pricegrabber $5 bonus rebates have disappeared from the Pricegrabber site since yesterday. Pricegrabber rebates are also handled by CPG/rebatestatus. Maybe it's just a coincidence, or maybe not.

Blahhhhh, this means that this Black Friday if anyone is intent on getting Free or FAR stuff or any Rebate related items they'd have to do their research and make sure what the status of RebateStatus is prior to buy or risk not getting paid on their rebate.

On another board I found a link to this article:

OP should change the title of this thread to "Rebatestatus" instead of "Trendnet", since this problem is apparently not confined to just Trendnet rebates.

Rebatestatus.com also handles Home Depot rebates, so be forewarned.

Rebatestatus.com also handles rebates for pricegrabber.com, Bed Bath & Beyond, Logitech, and TomTom GPS.

This thread needs to be a STICKY at the top of the HOT DEALS forum. This impacts a LOT of people, and potentially many deals currently posted and upcoming.

Continental Promotion seeks bankruptcy protection after layoffTampa Bay Business Journal - by Michael Hinman

Just a day after it handed out pink slips to 17 employees, CPG Marketing Inc. and Continental Promotion Group Inc. of Tampa have filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection Friday.

The companies both list an Eisenhower Boulevard office as their address, and both have Daniel Granger as its chief executive. Continental Promotion lists assets of between $1 million and $10 million, and liabilities in the same range from between 200 and 999 creditors. CPG Marketing listed estimated assets of $1 million to $10 million, and liabilities of between $10 million and $50 million, with up to 50 creditors.

This site is CLULESS as they locked and relocated my post about this in detail. I suggest you research on other sites to get the latest information about this, because this one is lacking !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am finished posting details and future deals here. I will post elsewhere.

You will lose money only monitoring this site on this.

I just got a check from them yesterday for $10. I wonder if its worth it to deposit it because bounce charges are more than $10.

This sucks.

RELAX. The mods were correct to move this out of the Hot Deals forum. The entity offering the rebate promotion (manufacturer, distributor or retailer) is responsible for fulfillment. Other than bank fees due to bounced checks, you should still get your rebate check - eventually. Worst case, you will have to go back to the entity advertising the promotion, and/or file a claim with your credit card company.

This is not the first or last time a rebate fulfillment house has run in to difficulties - just be patient, persistent, respectful - and keep good records.

Fortunately, all of my outstanding rebates are fulfilled by other entities.

It is interesting that you want you thread to stay in Hot Deal Forum but yor wrote "This is not a hot deal..." to start that thread.

Great advice but don't rely on your CC for any help on rebate related issues. However major manufacturers and retailers will stand behind their offers. Very few here will have CPG rebate exposure. I have done 1154 rebates since 11/2005 and only 6 were fulfilled through CPG. CPG biggest client was CompUSA. When they went belly up it ws only a matter of time before CPG was in big trouble.

you're right. they've traded common sense and spirit of the site for blind adherence to forum classification. i'll give SD a try now.
