My feeling is that this won't be impacted very much by the economy. Costs are still high and in order to see a consumer friendly (versus the prosumer market) price one will need to wait out the technological cycle. Much like how SD and CF flash drives were once very expensive but can now be had for under ten dollars. So I think we are looking at about 2 to 3 years before SSD's get to the point where we can buy one without a second thought. Especially the ones made by Intel. That is the one I would keep my eye on. |
