everytime i call pepboys they say
"thank you for calling pepboys, home of the buy 3 tires get the 4th free, this is <name> speaking, how can I help you?"

like they say it like robots

so it makes me think that getting the 4th tire for free (which is via MIR) is something they do all the time, no special deal, even if they claim it is through aug 23rd

Yes, this deal is on all the time. They require you to get their road & hazard warranty as well. I got much better prices elsewhere.

Tire places will price match. At least Big O and America's Tire here in So Cal will. I make them fight each other. If worse comes to worse, go to Costco. FWIW they usually charge retail price on 3 tires. You think you are getting a deal and a little bit of smart shopping will save you more that thinking you are getting a free tire.

I haven't bought tires at PepBoys for 21 years, ever since I discovered after driving off with a new set, that 4 out of 5 of the lugs on one wheel had never been retightened.

Had the same sort of problem in PA with them many years ago. Avoided ever since.

No way would I let them touch my car, and their store brand tires are terrible.
