Lands End gift cards are currently 9000 points for a $100 gift card. Lands End gift cards work at K-Mart and Sears. Much better value than 6000 points for $50.
When you check out here is what it says at K-Mart.com.

Got some LE GCs from TYN recently and wifey tried to use one at K-Mart and was not accepted. Weird thing is she was using an older one as well which did go through. Perhaps it's the magnetic strip as the 800 reports the balance is there.

And the secret is out... you can find earlier references to this in the thread on the best use of ThankYou points. Outside of airline tickets, this one was one of the best.

ummm...before they changed the values, it was 4500 points for a $50 gift card to lands end.

4500+4500 = 9000 = $100

this is not a good deal. it is the same as before. nuff said

Do you think I can use this Lands' End GC to buy the Sears GC?

I still think that Student Loan rebate is the best use of ThankYou network. Obviously it works only if you have student loans. With 100pt to $1 exchange rate, it is real money in your pocket, vs a gift card that you have to use to buy stuff.

^^^You need to look up the word fungible. I'll take $1.11 in GCs over $1 in cash every day of the week. Then again, my wife needs appropriate clothing for work, and Land's End stuff fills the bill so we have a direct use. But Sears has lots and lots of good stuff, and very reasonably priced too. I'd encourage you to start shopping there frequently, and not just because I'm a shareholder.

If you can describe a better way of getting a $100 K-Mart or Sears gift card for 9000 points, go ahead! We all would like to know how.

Good to know, but what happens if Lands End closes up shop. Would Sears still honor the gift cards?

These days it is hard to know which retailer will be around, so stocking up on gift cards may be risky business.

I am a bargain shopper and what's bad is Sears has set a precedent onto itself, by dropping clearance prices to ridiculous levels. Who shops regular prices at Sears anymore? Even 40% off clearance is not good enough, I'm waiting for 95% off clearance "Fashion" is a concept Sears should divest itself from IMHO, or it will find itself headed for bankruptcy. Sorry WSM

Yep, I had posted this on another thread. Why get Sears or Kmart cards when Lands End cards can be bought cheaper and can be used at all 3 places. I have about $500 of these cards now. There's alot of day to day stuff you find at Kmart instead of the supermarket.

Now that this info is in a headline on the topics page, I think a possible FW effect could cause the Thank You Network to bump the price of this gift card up to 10,000 pts. We shall see.

Same question here. Sears GC sounds not as cheap as the other two names. When you give the card as a gift, it'd better be a Sears.

Edit:

Found answer from OP's post under "Please Note:", No. 3 -> * Gift Cards may not be used to purchase Gift Cards.

This has been discussed many times before. These giftcards are easily sold for 90 cents on the dollar on eBay giving you a 1:100 return on every point in cash. I bought 5 of them after my last AOR and got full value for each points on eBay. Someone will likely be more than happy to get a 10% discount before making a big purchase at Sears, Lands End or Kmart.
