Back in February I started applying for Citi Cards to rack up some easy TY points

10k Citi Premier
15k Citi Proffesional
15k Citi Buisness

40k Checking/Savings

So for a little bit of spending that I would have done anyways, and a few automatic billpayments I was able to score about 88K points total (extra 8K was for spending and various small promos). Since Citi only awards the points to the TY network after you fulfill the obligations of the promotions, is there any reason I should NOT close the accounts? I don't plan on using them for BT or anything like that.

In doing so, will that make me eligible for "new customer" promotions in the future? I know United Mileage Plus won't let you get away with this anymore, but was wondering if anyone knows if Citi does the same thing.

I was wondering about if Citi could pull points back from TY. It seems like they are seperate entities.
