Cell Phone Deals & Packages

Moneyjar.com is $30 Cash Back. They also may pay it faster than the rest, but YMMV.

Direct Link

FYI: DealDigs has INSTANT Cash Back $29.99 Cash Back on this phone now. You get your Cash Back as fast as 2 days.

Direct link

If someone is willing to pay more for a better phone, here is the Sony Ericsson z750a 3G(HSDPA)phone. Unlock code can be purchased from eBay for around $10.

Direct link

--------

Bluetooth on A437 only works with headsets and handsfree devices. It can NOT connect to PCs or other phones.

--------

Tax on new CA orders are now (as of Dec 13) being billed correctly based on discounted price. No more worries about the hassle of calling to get credited the difference for new buyers.

Thanks to JimboUS for the following:
After you unlock the A437 using the instructions above. If you want to use it with T-Mobile T-Zones and/or T-Mobile Picture messaging go here and follow the instructions for the Samsung A727 phone:

T-Mobile Configurator

To retain the flexibility of using BOTH the ATT and T-Mobile configured profiles DO NOT replace the ATT Profile(s). Just store the new T-Mobile profile(s) as #2. That way you can go back and forth between the two as needed.

--------

CA customers are getting a whooping ~$16 'tax' charged which is against Sales Tax rules.
They should be charged on actual price ($29.99) which should be ~$3.00 not $16.

Here is the regulation from Tax board directly

http://www.boe.ca.gov/pdf/pub120.pdf

We need to find out a way to get it corrected.
Thanks to Astan :

I got charged $15.67 sales tax in CA. Called 866-391-0749. Chose "having issues with web order" Chose "have not received phone yet" When I got Customer Service Rep, after talking with supervisor, he said he was filling form to give credit back to my credit card for extra sales tax. Said it would take 48 hours and he did not know the exact amount.

--------
took 4 calls and 3 depts. but was finally credited back $13.XX yesterday.
call 800-498-1912, I spoke to a Cynthia and Jason, both real nice people, so go easy on them.
give them a day or two and it will be resolved.

------
Note: Unlock the phone before you change settings to your preferances.
When the phone is unlocked using the above directions, the phone is reset to factory settings and you will loose any changes to settings that you have made and you will loose your photos. I am not sure if you will also loose any ring tones that you have downloaded.

------
Disable GPRS

Or you can try *#4777*8665#, and then select "GPRS detach". Now it will show something like "network unavailable" if you try to connect Media.net.

1. A437 is not one of the refurbs
2. Only the 2-year contract price is listed.

What am I missing?

Be careful: they may charge tax on the full original price $209.99 or so (before discount), at least this is the situation for people in California. See the discussions in SD.

I didn't get charged tax. Do I need to activate the phone to keep the discount?

Yes, this phone is very easy to unlock. Google A437 unlock and there are several links with instructions.

That's weird, they didn't charge me tax in OH

This is a nice deal, only $7.99 for a new DK member. This phone is easy to unlock and makes a great backup phone.

Too bad DK only allows you 2 credits per year (not sure if that's calendar year or 12 months after your last order). Already used mine up on the last (make money after DK) deal.

California has special sales tax laws for discounted cellphones.

Yes, you should activate the account and make one call just in case they still have that condition on recovering the instant discount for prepaid phones.

P.S. Be aware that the bluetooth on this phone is a little limited. It's missing profiles for anything other than headsets.

Still waiting for a payout from them; only been a year.

My payment didn't come till May of this year for an order placed in December of last year. I then changed the payment method from paypal to check and I got it in next 3 weeks. YMMV

Yeah I need to e-mail and bug them and find out where my last payout is too, it's been well over the 90 days they claim you get your payment by.

thanks OP, in for 2

Read the fine print. $29.99 plus tax of about 15% -- plus the $10 initial load. The total cost per phone would be $44.71.

Don't believe me? That's what I got in my credit card bill and the invoice when my phone arrived.
