Saw at my local Home Depot in Ankeny, Iowa that they had the Rigid 5 Gallon Aluminum Twin Compressor for $199.99 marked down from $299.99. I tried to find a link online at Home Depot's site, but I can't find it so I can only assume that they are discontinuing this model. Here is the link directly from Rigid's site.

Yes, but only if people do not buy it at the $199 price. 33% off is is not worth it, so leave them on the shelves.

Yeah Im not greedy, if it gets to 49 Ill buy This one is probably worth 99, but 49 is better.

For those that are not familiar, the smaller 2.5 gallon model of this compressor went on clearance in February for $49 down from $199. By around April, after the stores had pretty much been wiped out, HD dropped the price to $20
old thread about the 2.5 gallon model - maybe if we can be patient on these they will drop down to similar pricing levels (75 to 90% off)

BTW - these are nice compressors - the big selling point was that they have aluminum tanks - so the tanks are about 50% lighter than comparable steel tanks. The 2.5 gallon model was incredibly light. These are really designed with the job site in mind - they are light, have a protective "roll cage" - feature 2 couplers for multiple nailers - The 5 gallon model is an oil lubed model so should be long lasting if properly cared for.

Sorry for the lame question(s), but help a compressor newb out if you will. I assume you can attache a variety of tools to this compressor? Impact wrenches, auto paint guns, etc. Could this also double for pressure washing with the right attachments? Last 'duh' question -- for air tank refills, do you just head down to the gas station and fill 'er up?

Picked one up at Woodhaven, MI. Open box on shelf marked $199. Asked HomeDepot guy if they had any more at that price and was told it was only that price because it was open box/display model, whatever. Opened the box and no plug for the oil and oil all over the place. Another Homedepot guy came walking along and said "Well let me get you one from stock that hasn't been opened yet." SOB! lied to me. Anyways thanks OP. Can't wait to play with my new toy.

btw, two new ones left on top shelf no where near the air tools.
