Speaking from experience, Parrot bluetooth devices are top-notch. I can't say enough good about them. I have one currently installed in my truck.

However, those sale prices are virtually non-existent. I can find Parrot car kits at better prices at plenty of other places that don't even claim to be on sale. A minute of searching turned up the unit I have for $139.95, but the site above is charging $199.99 for a "sale" price... forget that...

"Speaking from experience"?

First of all, you will NOT find a better deal on a Parrot car kit AND harness bundled deal! Secondly, you should notice your link that has this "GREAT" price has a $25 shipping charge, for two car kits it will cost you $40 shipping! Do your research before you post, go buy the car kit with $25 shipping and then go find the cheapest harness you can buy anywhere and tell me that the bundle price at www.safewireless.com is not the best price on the net for the bundle?

THE PRICE IS REFER TO AS HIGH INCLUDES A PLUG AND PLAY HARNESS!

alert mods

To be fair, I didn't realize the the links you provide comes bundled with the harness. That makes it much more attractive. However, It's still pretty close to being in line with a lot of other sites even if you have to buy the harness separately.

I'll concede that $25 for shipping on the one I pointed out is too much, but only about half of the "free" harnesses on the site you listed are actually free. Depending on which harness you choose, they may charge up to a whopping $90 more.

alert mods

If you need the particular harness for your car and look for it, that's when you will realize what you are dealing with.
Furthermore, it's amazing that no one cares about the customer service, reputation, extended warranty, dealing with an authorized dealer that knows the product better than anyone you can talk to so you get full use out of the car kits. Price is never the only consideration for me. Buying a car kit from someone that is the cheapest, but can't even answer the simplest questions is not for me. Try returning product at some of these places that may not even have a website just because the price is low, good luck!

Do this test: Assume you need a car kit and harness for your truck or car and see if you can find it cheaper. Also, keep in to consideration that if you ever have a problem with the car kit within the next 2 years, it will be replaced free of charge. And then
get your list of questions and call around to see if the other LOW price Parrot car kit sellers can answer all of your questions and assess the overall customer service and tell me if you can find a better deal.

All of the car kits have the same high quality level!

CK3000-No display
CK3100-LCD Black and White (The shape is oblong which allows it to fit more positions on the dash, ideally you want a flat spot to mount although there is other mounting options provided in the kit.
CK3200-Color TFT-Square shape, make sure the dash will accomodate, if not, you will need a vehicle specific mount from www.panavise.com

MK6000-Music streaming, no display
MK6100-Music streaming, OLED removable display, wireless controller.

Am I the only one under the impression that OP is somehow linked to this store?

Having owned a unit with a color display for a couple of years, I can tell you that I hardly ever use the display. I would save the money and get a unit with no display or maybe a monochrome display.

In fact, there's the MK6000 that includes A2DP support for playing stereo music from an iPod or compatible cell phone. If I had it to do all over again, I'd go that route. It seems like a no-brainer that all bluetooth car kits should have this feature, but most don't. I sure wish mine did.

Could be, or he or she is just passionate about them .

I ordered the Parrot MINIKIT from them using the OP's free shipping code (a couple of deals back) and it showed up with an older version of the firmware and would not work with my iphone. I e-mailed the company (safewireless) about the problem and they sent me a Parrot BT USB adapter! Using that I was able to upgrade the firmware to the latest version and it now works fine with my iphone. So if I were in the market for another Parrot device I would for sure send the business their way just based on the quality of the service I received from them. I have no connection with them other than being a customer.

BTW, the Jabra SP5050 actually sounds a bit better than the MINIKIT and and is easier to use - but its fatal flaw is lack of enough audio output. When driving in the car with the Jabra turned all the way up and the phone level all the way up it is hard to hear - and is hanging on the sun visor right in front of the driver. The MINIKIT has plenty of volume to spare, so is for us the keeper of the two even though the audio quality is a little below that of the Jabra (better noise cancelling in the Jabra).

I think it all depends on if you get a lot of calls from folks you don't want to talk to or not - and if your phone has voice command dialing. If when the phone rings you are going to answer it, then the display does not matter much. If you are selective about who you use your minutes on, then you probably care about the display. The same is true with dialing out, if your phone has voice command dialing then most any of the units will work - just tap the button on the device and say the tag and your phone picks up on it and dials. You CAN push contacts to the BT kits and dial it that way as well, if your phone does not support voice command. You still don't need a display in most cases to make these calls either. Note that the cheapest, non-display model does not support all the BT profiles the more expensive ones do - just something to consider.

Parrot kits are the only ones I've ever had that work with every phone I've tried. Before getting my 3100GPS I tried SonyEricsson, Motorola and Nokia, and each of them had some kidn of quirk.

The Parrot even works perfectly with my HTC smartphones, despite their crap Bluetooth implementation.

i want this Parrot kit. what is the best model to buy?

alert mods

ReviewIf you are OK with trading out your stereo I would wait for the Parrot RK8200 to come out.

It is without a CD player. Instead it has a slot inside to hide your phone or IPOD/Zune so you can listen to mp3's. It also has a slot for usb memeory sticks and streams music via A2DP bluetooth. The best part is it has a dial paad on it so you can leave your phone in your pocket or in the stereo while you dial a number not in your phone's memory or you can scroll to the phone book. If you need a cd player (old school) then get the Parrot Rhythm n' blue. I have it as well. It doesn't bluetooth stream but it has a dial pad as well. Both come with a remote control that you can dial off of as well.

If you don't mind the install hassles, any should be fine.

My wife and I both have the Parrot MiniKit models in our cars and they work OK. The Jabra portable kit sounds better, but has such a low output volume that we gave it to our younger (and better hearing) daughter . We just could not hear it solidly driving down the road. All of these just clip to your sun visor for a no hassle and portable install.

I checked the OP's site and they seem overpriced. Maybe that is because I used to be a dealer of Parrot and know what they really cost.

I forgot to mention that the RK8200 will be out soon and you can get it preordered at Crutchfield for close to the price of the handsfree kits on this site. I believe it come with a free install kit, not tax, and free shipping. Also if you have a HTC windows phone there is a download to get the bluetooth display to show your network and battery meter.

Manufacturers site
crutchfield link
$279.99 @ Crutchfield Maybe cheaper elsewhere?

Look at the (car kit AND harness bundles) and tell us if you think it's not the lowest price available anywhere! The site emphasizes the special pricing on the bundles, not to mention a 2 year warranty and a windscreen cover too.
