The new issue is that only buyers are going ot be able to leave feedback on the transaction, because of the fact that sellers did not give feedback until they received feedback, aka feedback hostage. Buyers were afraid to give sellers negative or neutral because of retaliatory feedbacks, so they're transitioning to the buyers feedback being the only one that matters.
It's still feedback hostage land. For every transaction, sellers wait until they got positive feedback to consider giving positive feedback to buyer, even if buyer paid promptly and communicated well with seller. Seller is going "I'm not leaving you pos. feedback until I'm sure you're not gonna leave me neg. feedback" but then once seller has gotten pos. feedback, what's their incentive to leave pos. feedback to buyer.
I'm mostly a buyer with about 100 positive feedbacks from 1998 (100% pos.) but it's become near impossible to have seller leave you pos. feedback now. And I honestly don't blame them either, the system is too stacked against the sellers IMO. I've sold about a dozen items over the years but at this point with higher fees, it's extremely unlikely that I'll use eBay for selling stuff. Cheaper and easier to go with Craigslist. No shipping hassle, no fees, you get cash directly from buyer so no hassle with paying or not paying bidders, no worries about feedback, and since it's local the whole transaction usually happens faster.
I used the 35% Live search CashBack promo to get something I had waited for a good price to buy. I'll probably continue to look at buying on eBay if I can't find it on Craigslist cheaper but as far as selling, eBay's no longer an option for me. Partly due to the increased fees but also in large part because of their treatment of sellers. (and that's coming from a 90% buyer)
