Correct, it means the Cash Back report is temporarily unavailable, not the deal. I jumped this deal few days ago. The price was increased to $149.99 by AT&T just two or three days ago, but now it's back to $99.99. So, if you want to take this offer, better hurry up!

AFAIK, this is an AT&T branded phone, so if you throw in an AT&T sim card it should work.
Otherwise until you either unlock it or debrand it, other sim cards won't work.
I would rather go with att directly. To me its involves less risk. Just my thought.

These phones stink. My wife and I returned ours under the 30 day upgrade warranty. The reception was poor. We had many more 'dead spots' with these phones. Also, if you set auto lock, it didn't always lock. Plus, if you got a call and accidentally pressed the up/down button on the side, which happens very easily when reaching into your pocket to answer the phone, you would send the call to voice mail. Very poor design!
The problem is we cannot get any discount/rebate when we go to att.com directly. For these Cash Back websites, I can say most of the times you should be able to get it w/out problem.
