Thanks for the heads up OP! I'll be checking my van's tires and seeing if they are ready for the scrap heap.
A quick check to costco.com shows that to be a 15% discount on my $136 tires. ![]()
Agnutter said:Combine it with this deal for a $50 AMEX card rebate.I'd give this one a 50/50 chance of flying, I'll still try mind you but don't expect to receive, because it's Costco. Michelin will know what promotions are going on there and may not allow us to double dip. And make sure you buy them quickly because the extra rebate expires within 5 days of the Costco promo kickoff.
Tire promotions generally last at least 4 weeks and coupons are usually available at the Tire Center.
Do these promotions usually include the BF Goodrich tires as well?
if only costco would install tires with a lower speed rating on my car.
has anyone been able to get costco to install tires with a lower rating than the tires that the car came with out of the dealer.
I got new tires at Costco yesterday. Anyone know if Costco would do a price adjustment?
Thanks.

Tried twice and gave up. I was told that Costco doesn't have a price adjustment policy. So it may take an extra nice customer service rep to get your money back.

Same with me. The rep did a refund in cash with no hassles.

They will do it, but will make you sign a waiver that you acknowledge the rating is lower.
Strange thing is that car mfgs will vary the speed rating based on the trim of the car. Same engine and suspension, but the luxury trim get V rated tires instead of lower rated tires. V tires (149 mph) are 50% more expensive than H tires (130 mph).

Yeah, but they roll quieter, and the wholesale cost of the tires is easier to absorb in the higher trim level . . . put another way, the cheaper tires let them put a better price in the paper for the 'base' model. ![]()

Easiest way to do this is to tell them the car is the lowest model. For instance, once of our cars is a Volvo R that came with 155mph tires and 300 horses trapped in there. By telling them it was the regular version (~160hp), they would install 100 mph tires - much cheaper.
The guy who takes your order simply types what you tell him into the computer.
