Note that the $25 off using paypal is a CashBack promo not instant off.

This is very temping but since it's 2008 I'm leery of spending ~200/tax for a monitor without HDCP. Sceptre on OMX is 229 with it but only 22". Problem being is that we're all likely to keep these LCDs longer than our PC/Macs and will want to play back HD Blu rays or hook this up for the kids to play PS3.

If you get a DVI to HDMI you can display HDCP content from a HDCP but without audio, you'd need to run a separate audio depending on the source either A/V (RED/WHITE RCA) to 3.5mm (headphone type) jack (runs less than $2 if you look around online).

I got one of these refurb from Geeks.com for $199, and love it - great quality

don't worry about hdcp ; anydvd hd will be around forever

Only cheap $20 coupons left. The $30 are mostly gone. Still for a 24" this is a nice price.

No HDCP??

no HDCP.

I know hardware HDCP strippers exist, but they're usually sorta costly.

alert mods

just keep in mind that they have switched from pva panel to TN panel.

This one has the pva panel for $30 more.

unlikely. refresh rate is listted as 3ms. I think some of the older versions of that model you linked had the pva panel, but they've since started using TN panels in that model

the $25 paypal off, is that a one time deal?

All this needs is a SOYO rebate to make it really worthwhile....

This is a great monitor....had mine 9 months and love it even it don't have HDCP. Hey, I don't even know what HDCP is. Got my eyes out for a good price on a 26" or 28" monitor.

HDCP allows the playback of content protected Hi Def Content. You really need if you intend to keep the monitor for years. As another member mentioned there are hacks and go arounds but not worth the trouble IMO.

Like you can buy a HDCP LCD and hook it up to an HD tuner, PS3 and bam you have a TV. So for a few bux extra it's worth it. I posted an OMX deal but it sold out that had 20" Sceptre with HDCP for $114.99 after rebates etc. today.

I got one. Paypal is actually a 20% Cash Back. So eventually its ~$50 off. Also got the 1 cent wiereless headphones. Didn't see any Live.com discount.
