If you're looking for a new DVD player but not ready to spend the money for blu-ray yet, here's a great deal on a Sony DVP NS77H/B DVD player. It's 1080p for only $39.99 with free shipping. It is last years' model but I think it's a bargain at this price. Excellent reviews all around.

Why is this in the HD DVD player category? It's an upconverting DVD player (and the title needs to reflect that, please), not an HD DVD player.

And second of all, I'm happy to see you corrected yourself regarding me not providing a link since it was staring you right in the face.

To answer the other question regarding how it's different than the other model, I didn't spend any time to find out. I was looking for a new DVD player and came across this one at Dell where I could use my gift card from a previous PC purchase.
