My first post so please be gentle. (note: I posted this same text on SD)

I was at Sears today to pick up my router from this deal and I saw a guy loading 3 miter saws on his truck. I asked him about them and he said they were under $200 dollars (usually more than $600). I went back inside and noticed the saw displayed for $299. It is a Craftsman Professional 12 inch Dual Bevel Sliding Compound Miter Saw with Laser. A salesman came up and told me it was even cheaper cuz it is on clearance. Went to the counter and it rang up at $175.97. I went ahead and picked one up at that price because it was just a steal.

I could not find a link to the exact model I purchased (model 2009 21206) from their website, but here is a link to a similar model.

Fire away with questions/comments.

Still just normal sale price in Northern California.

Did you ask them to scan it or look it up in the computer? Tell them to check the price...even if they say they already know the price.

The sign still says $299 where I bought it too, but the saleperson informed me that it rings up at $175, and sure enough it did.

I just want to remind everyone to please remember to be careful with your tools! I've been working with power tools for 25+ years without injury, but last week my rather anal attention to safety slipped for half a second while mitering some crown. Now I've got a month of physical therapy ahead of me to build up strength in the muscle/tendon I nicked with a carbide-tipped blade. Fortunately, the saw was already in the process of clutching down the blade after the cut. Otherwise I'd have a lifetime of one-handed typing ahead of me!

Nice post and good spotting someone else's find. Two questions: Does this model have a motor brake? (Der Profi thanks for the warning and hope you heal fast) Also, what location did you find this?

i found two stores with one at each but still coming up at reg price. can you scan a receipt or post your location or more info so we can match this?

I got one of these on clearance from a Sears Essential store in NJ a year ago. Very nice unit and I've used it in the woodworking shop as a radial arm saw replacement. This is a powerful BIG saw and at this price it is crazy! I love this saw!

Went to three stores. At only one store. Price came up as $499 when he put the 21206 sku in the computer. He didn't scan it with a UPC scanner.

In Michigan Briarwood 21206 Dual Bevel Miter saw sign is $328 and rings at $328. But in the Clearance/closeout section had one fully boxed with a $148 tag. Bought that. Thanks OP

Please receipt scan, they willing to pricematch, though it shows 499.

I hope this is useful. If there are any blackouts you need removed, or if you see info that should not be made public please let me know.

I found this in the Northridge Ca store. They had 8 left before I bought mine (that was after someone else had just bought 3).

I have no clue about the motor brake, but here is a link to a site that is selling the same model online:

If you wait until tomorrow you might be able to get at 10% off for the friends and family sale.

Does anyone know if when typed into the computer it shows $499, if it is scanned will it come up different as $175 ???

Seems like its good only on west coast.

Too bad its a Craftsman.

I hit my store up in Cola SC, no go.

Manager said it was "X"ed out of inventory meaning none existed around there.

However, I actually needed one of these so I looked around and saw another item on clearance.

It is a craftsman professional series dual bevel 10" sliding compound miter saw.

It listed at 450, I paid 300. It was the floor model.

Not the killer steal that some here got but I actually needed one and it looked like a pretty good deal.

Also no go in GA. Manager said it was a regional thing…could not get him to price match!

It is $193 in Portland, OR (Lloyd Center) but able to get an addtional 10% off tonight (8-17-08) from 6-9pm with the friends and family discount. Great price and I have been holding out for a dual bevel sliding one for quite a while. Thanks!

No go in Greenville, NC, scanned at $499. A shame, because it's a beast of a saw! Nice find OP, and congrats to those who got 'em.
