Hey Everyone, was at my local WalMart the yesterday and noticed the Brinkmann Smoke'N Grill Charcoal Smoker which retails for around $60 for only $28.88. I have worked on trying to do smoked ribs and steak on my gas grill but this should work way better and its small size will allow me to stash it away when not in use. Enjoy...

Edit: looks like the redirect is not working correct...try copying and pasting this url: http://www.WalMart.com/catalog/product.gsp?product_id=876295

If that copy and paste still does not work google the part number 810-5301-W

Also there is a store finder function to see if your local store has any...it was correct for mine.

WalMart link doesn't work. This item doesn't seem to be on their site anymore.

Wow, I didn't realize it was originally $60. I bought this about 3 weeks ago for $24.99. Was marked down from 29.99 so I didn't think it was a hot deal or I would have posted it.

Smoked Brisket

1 whole beef brisket
Tony Chachere's Creole Seasoning
Bacon grease
10 pound bag of ROYAL OAK CHARCOAL
Charcoal lighter

Trim large amounts of fat from brisket
Cut brisket in half
Rub both halfs of brisket liberally with bacon grease
Shake creole seasoning liberally on brisket and rub into bricket

Fill charcoal pan with charcoal
Soak charcoal with lighter
Line water pan with foil for easy cleanup and fill with water

Light charcoal and wait until flames subside
Place thick half of brisket on bottom grill
Place thin half of brisket on top grill
Cover and smoke for 6-7 hours maybe 8 if you like it well done.
Check charcoal every hour and add more if needed.

Slice thin and enjoy with baked beans and potato salad and your favorite BBQ sauce.

Left over brisket can be chopped and smothered in BBQ sauce and cook in a 200 degree oven for 2 hours (makes great sandwiches).

The weber bullet is a lot better built unit, including heavier metal which would make for much easier temp control. Especially for slow smoking. However, I agree...$25 is a great deal. Particularly if you just wanted to try it.

This is a site dedicated to the Weber (but not by weber). But of the same techniques can be used on the Brinkman. Of course all the receipts can and you could experiment with the modifications and charcoal lighting.
