We just bought this Whirlpool Duet Sport 3.7 CuFt Washer and this 6.7 CuFt Whirlpool Duet Sport Dryer. The in store price is cheaper than online. We paid $680 + $720 or $1400 before taxes but after instant rebate. I can't find any real reviews of the Costco model #s WFW8410SW and WGD8410SW(manufactured under those #s specifically for Costco so no other appliance dealer need worry about price matching). So if anyone actually has these units feel free to chime in.

As far as I can tell, these are (almost?) the same washing machine sold by Sears that are 3.7 cu foot under their own model # here for $705. The Sears Dryer costs $697. The Sears warranty isn't 2 years but the Costco warranty is 2 years. Sears might have a restocking fee if you return them in 30 days. The reviews are somewhat mixed on the Sears site with maybe 75% "I love it" 5 stars and 25% "I hate it" with 1 or 2 stars. The "love" camp really gush over it, the hate camp despise it. Having the ability to return it in 18 months if it starts to smell, or I hate it, is important to me.

I'm sure some slightly better deal could be manufactured with a Sears card rebate or something but $1400 for both units from Costco seems pretty good. Instant rebate ends August 31.

Did your price include the pedastals too?

is this good deal?

Costco had the set with pedastals on sale for $1600 a while ago.

If you have a Lowes by you, check out their clearance area for appliances. They often times have pedestals for under 100 a piece. I'm shopping for a fridge, and I saw a stack of the pedestals there.

We are thinking about buying a similar set but have been hesitating primarily because our laundry room is on the second floor. I saw the description on the washer specifically addressing installation on upper floors, but I was just curious - are there any owners of this model (or similar type) that have installed them on second floors? If so, any reviews/thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
