$40 or free with government dtv transition coupon. Yes, it may be buggy like the DTVPAL and they gouge on shipping - $8.95 for one or $17.90 for two. Still may be the best under $60 converter for some people.

Thanks OP, this is a hot deal! Odd these are a different model number yet same feature wise as the DTVpal. Originally DTVpal was supposed to only be $40. I'm going to bite, mainly as a back up for my older tvs, plus I might end up cancelling my satellite service once my roommates move out. I rarely watch tv and most network shows can be watched online now anyway. Plus these will be great to take aboard the great mothership. The insectillians will enjoy it.

Now I remember why I can't stand Di$h Network...tried to order and got the following message...

"Our records indicate that you or this address had Di$h Network service in the past. We are unable to automatically process your request to order the DTVPal receiver online. Please call 1-888-673-9040 and a DTVPal representative will help you with your order. "

Good deal, too bad I jump on the previous ones from Meritline (which is still backordered) since my coupons went expired a couple of weeks ago.

the main bugs have to do with the tv guide and vcr timers. you can check out the details on the avsforum http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=1001979&page=130

Anyone who considers buying this, just know you're rolling dice on this box as to whether it'll work in your city/region without too much annoyance. Yes, go to AVS forum to really know what you're getting yourself into.

Typical Dish Network . All of their equipment has quirks and bugs in the software. Typically they ship the product and then try to fix it with software downloads, but in this case they can't update the software via their satellite feed.
