You can do better with Chase Rewards Plus, 10% back (requires chase credit card)
Chase rewards plus will also give you a $250 dollar check for $200 of reward so this is really 12.5%

I'm getting my arcade for 199 - 12.5% = $174!

on the live.com site it does say 22.5%, but when you click the store it says 9% CashBack, wtf.
When I pull up live.com, it says 9% in the stores section. If you do the math, 13.5% (22.5-9) of $300 is $40.5 --> the price drop on the Pro. The Arcade was cheaper with the 22.5%.
Pro is OOS?
Here comes the novice, which one I have to buy to use primarily as Media Extender. I heard Arcade but not sure.

Another noob question, but what do media extender's do? =/
So it's cheaper to get the pro + buy a 120gb hard drive?
I bought mine just before the first price drop, but at least I got the 35% MS live CashBack. A
If you ordered last week when the price was $299, you can call and easily get $40 refunded with a self-PM. If you also managed to grab the live CashBack last week, that will bring your net cost to under $200.
elite returns a 404 page.
So is this the best deal going around? I'd like to get an elite with some games included .. any suggestions? Thanks

Media Center Extenders let you view content from your PC on your TV using a home network.
They're typically used by folks with Windows Media Center-equipped PCs that have special capture cards to record TV shows/movies off the air or via cable/satellite. However, extenders can also play music from your Windows Media Player library, or view pictures you have stored on your PC. The general idea being that your TV/home theater setup is usually a better place to view movies and play music than your PC.
Windows Media Center was originally a special version of Windows XP (Windows XP Media Center Edition) but it now comes by default in Vista Home Premium and Vista Ultimate.
The advantage to using an Xbox 360 as a Media Center Extender is that it costs about the same as a dedicated extender box, but also plays games. ![]()

microsoft sez... cut the price of its Xbox 360 to $199, from $279.
they just cut the price of its Xbox 360 to $199. That drops it from its previous sticker of $279. The action may take some business away from the Sony PS3, but it is more clearly aimed at market leader Nintendo which has remained in the front spot for months with its $250 Wii.
So just wait for the new pricing at local stores and online...
news story only on new pricing
