Maybe put retail box instead of system. As is, it looks too much like it is a computer. |

At Slickdeals, some people are saying this is not a retail box. There seems to be a debate going on.. *EDIT* It is a confirmed retail version with 3 year warranty. They updated the sale page. |
I saw the same thing at SD. I called and the CSR said that it is a retail box. I asked 'are you sure' and he said yes. I sent an email also to get them to confirm it in writing, will post when I get a response |
They must have got tired of the phone calls. Intel® Core™ 2 Duo E8400 - BX80570E8400 - Box CPU - Socket LGA775 |
man, i love my 8400. OC'd to 3.8 ghz on air w/minimal tweaks. thing is rock solid. i've had it OC'd since last Dec and no signs for the worse yet |
This is a good deal, if you already have a Q6600 though, just pad mod it and you have a faster CPU than this stock. Of course you could overclock the E8400 but I don't know how much more it has in it since it is already 1333. |
I see nothing in the product description that says anything about heatsink and fan. |
I jumped on it. I did the second day shipping and was $9.58 but no tax to ny so total was $149.58, ground would have been $6.50. If its a C0, thats fine. I am just waiting out for the quads to drop to about the same price if they ever do. If you look up the part number from intel you will see that it has the heatsink, fan, etc, 3 yr warranty. |
8400 is awesome. OCd to 4ghz with air HSF and upping the vcore a little. 40c idle 60c under heavy load |
Is this worth getting if you do not plan to over-clock? |
Nehalem coming out shortly......IMC and all. |

I've never upgraded a CPU. I have a compaq sr5010NX w/LGA775 Socket, Celery D, Core2-3.4mhz, 2GB mem. (max), WinXP. If I put an E8400 in it: |
