Nice price! My Harmony 1000 is collecting dust though.

Don't forget the Logitech 10% discount

And why would your Harmony 1000 be collecting dust?
If I put that much money into a remote, I'd be on it as much as I could

If you want it shipped faster, you can take advantage of the free 3 month Amazon Prime Trial - FW Link

I did this to get the $3.99 overnight shipping for Prime members, so I can play with this over the weekend.

Nice price.

I had been holding out for a Harmony One, but I would jump on this if I hadn't just been laid off from work on Friday (damn...bad timing).

Oh well, nice find for the rest of yous.

Talk about irony - now that you have the time to give the Harmony a real workout, you can't afford one ...

Good luck on scoring your next position!

In for one. Have had one for a few years now and can't watch anything in our media system without it. This one for my dad for the new system we got him a few weeks ago. Great product! except for that darned charging cradle...

Seems like an attractive deal, but after visiting the Logitech site to see if my new "S/A Explorer 8300HD" cable box was on the supported list, I have to say I've lost confidence. The site gadget for looking anything up is useless(or maybe it's on the fritz).

I even tried my Sony XBR and got nothing ?? Tried entering the model numbers every which way. These guys need to contact Google or do something.

(Euro-trash if ya ask me )

Strange, I checked all of my components on the Logitech site last night, and it worked like a charm. Better yet, everything was listed as supported, so I ordered one this morning. I'll finally have a remote for my $10 garage sale Onkyo receiver!

Strange, indeed.

When I enter a device (Device Type pull down, then Brand Pull down, then free entry for Model Number), the page blinks, as if its checking or checked, then nothing new shows up and no "device not found" msg or suggested subs either (page is "same as it ever was" - Regards to D. Byrne ). I'm using IE, so nothing but vanilla here. I get no popup blocker msg, no nutt'in. Das der spiegele !

If you don't want to deal with Logitech customer service about the charging cradle, you can fix it yourself. Just take a small piece of paper (like a post-it) and fold it once or twice, then put it between the battery and the battery cover. That extra thickness will lift the remote enough so the charging contacts connect.

Or... just call Logitech and they'll send you a new dock.

Huh? so are you putting the paper inside the cover of the remote(between battery and battery cover)...or between the remote and the cradle?

That said..the cradle is a massive P.O.S. Sure, CS is nice, but took FOREVER to get them to replace the cradle...the first time. 5 cradles later and it won't charge in this one now. Interestingly, at the 3rd cradle they sent me a slightly different model..it seemed to work better..the first time....after that..hosed..I've used rubbing alcohol, rubbing, cleaning..pressing...just SUCKS

Take the cover off, put the paper on top of the battery and close it up. I know it doesn't sound like it'll make much of a difference because it's the thickness of a piece of paper, but it worked for me. The thickness of the paper will push the cover out a tiny bit, so when the remote is sitting in the dock (looking at it from the side), the battery end (bottom) is raised higher, and the front end will, as a result, be tilted lower towards the charging contacts.

I read in a forum somewhere that some of the earlier revision remotes were shipped with newer charging docks and the designs were slightly different.

Hi, is it possible to set this up with a password? We have 3 kids that leave our remote all over the house. I'd like to get a remote with a password so they won't be able to use this one.

Got my new toy in yesterday thanks to their next day shipping. Looks like they just sent it to me from a local shipper (Dallas in my case). Hooked it up to my Vista 64 box and got it programmed. Works like a charm even on my SageTV HD extender. I also did the paper in the battery tray fix mentioned a few posts up just to be on the safe side. This remote even gets high marks on the WAF scale(Wife Acceptance Factor)

Another cool feature of this remote is that it has sensors to know when you pick it up. It automatically lights up when it detects motion and goes off after a period of inactivity and no motion...very nice.

vp, I am new to the Harmony remotes, but I couldn't find any mention of a PW online. However, you could setup a bogus Activity set that does nothing. Leave it on there when you are not using it.

I dont get it... Is this dead? When I click on the link to Amazon the price is not displayed and it says that the price is now $130 but is shipped from 6Ave. So the rebate, since it is not being purchased from Amazon, is no longer available? TY

Boog: Thanks for the extra tidbit of info....I love Logitech stuff..I have their speaker system, wireless keyboard, rechargeable laser mouse and the harmony..the harmony is the only thing that's given me grief....and a lot of it.

In their defense...aside from all the time "trouble shooting" the device each time, they honor their warranty and send cradle after cradle Must be cheap to send the cradle...they've never sent another remote....guess they feel that works pretty well or is the thing that costs the most.

I can't say I like the number pad layout at all. It's way low on the remote and given it's slight heft, doesn't make it all the convenient. I've read this is actually an IMPROVEMENT over previous models!!

The most annoying thing of the remote is the "assistant". It's great while making sure the remote is working and fine-tuning your initial setup...just wish I didn't have to connect it back to the computer to perm. turn it off. Quite annoying. Seems to "come back" as well whenever your remote is totally depleted of charge and you recharge it. (happens to me b/c of above issues w/ the charging base.

-2 cents

P.S.
Most common problem is the 'gold' contacts on remote or charger become 'dirty' and can't really charge anymore...keep some isop. alcohol handy to clean them.
