Apricorn boxes used to be well regarded in the enclosure thread here. The PATA/USB2 model I bought a long time ago has served me very well. I thought I'd give this one a try since i have a spare SATA drive. This enclosure seems very similar to the antec mx-1, which is similarly priced at Amazon right now (USB2, ESATA, and a large, quiet fan over the drive). It's a retail box so it will come with all cables (the basic USB2 and SATA) and also includes an internal sata cable and slot plate. It's $39.99 at Newegg right now, with shipping at around $10. There's a $15 mail in rebate, as well as 1% FatCash. Your total after rebate should be around $35, which is a very good price for this particular brand/model. As I said before, the mx-1 is similarly priced without rebate at the moment, but I've had very good experiances with apricorn in the past. Newegg Product Link edit: bad at math |
