I am a 40D user...
If I am going to spend this money, I will look at a Sony a350: LCD, Liveview done right
The lens is older lens. No IS, nor fast, a 55-250IS will be the best value option if you go Xsi (actually the kit 18-55IS is a very high performance/value lens an entry level should pick up)
