I have been paying $25/mo for AT&T DSL Express (1.5mbps). Comcast is offering 6mbps cable Internet service for $20/mo for the first 6 months only from its retailers, expiring end of September. Being an existing AT&T DSL customer, I tried to price match. Today I called AT&T at 1-800-288-2020 (national Internet support #) and told them that Comcast is offering 6mbps cable Internet service for $20/mo but did not mention it's only good for 6 months; the first CSR offered a $50 visa card if I upgrade to the Elite service (6 mbps) for $35/mo regular price, but I declined. Then they connected me to the second CSR who offered the Elite service for $17.5/mo for 6 months which beats the Comcast 6-month promotion offer. I took this offer for now. It appears that the second CSR is well aware of my local Internet service competitor's promotion offer even though Comcast does not offer the $20/mo deal directly on their website any more. |
