Good question.

Some Chinese monitors are faulty. I believe this is a Chinese company. Warranty could be important.

Note: For computer monitors those that have 1920x1080 resolution. They have fewer square inches of mointor space. You lose 1.5 inches of heigth for .75 inches of width at 24". For notebooks that new 16:9 16.4" monitor is actually smaller overall than an older 15.4" 16:10. Now if you only watch videos the 16:9 is better (no black on top and bottom).
