Ive actually seen this in their store before for this price. I wanted it to match some bedroom furniture I had. Very nice product. Need to assemble it. Just an FYI and green for posting it.

I just picked up this flier today. Now is this a decent price? Pottery Barn is always high for me.
I grocery shop a lot at Aldi but have never bought their hardware. I have heard their computers are priced reasonably and are reliable.
Sorry this was the only finish i saw in the store. Kind of a cherry finish which matches my bedroom furniture. sorry

They had these in the local Aldi (Bethlehem, PA) tonight. Looks good, had a little mini version on display. Pretty solid, good deal.

That website makes it look like an Ikea with a grocery store in it... nice and professional.
The one in Alexandria, VA was an armpit. It was in a kinda scummy neighborhood and had locks on the shopping carts that took quarters to discourage theft.
They had the bench, but the rest of the store was like a graveyard for the off-brands of all foods similar to the in-house grocery store brands. (not "frooot loops", but "fruity ringed cereal" 
)
The lines were busy and they moved fast. It just seems to be a limited grocery store that happens to have an isle of completely unrelated stuff in the middle of it.

You've pretty much described just about every Aldi store, except that a lot of the "off brand" stuff is their own brand and is pretty good quality if you're not brainwashed by name-brand advertising.

The locks on the carts aren't to discourage theft...if someone wants to steal a cart, the can and will. The 25 cent lock on the cart is genius. It keeps the parking lot clear of carts (unlike WalMart, etc). Also, many of their brands are "store brands" but let me tell you the quality is certainly there. There meats for example are very good quality since Aldi is owned by Trader Joes.
Lastly, I'm shocked you didn't complain you had to purchase the bags and bag your own groceries. Another genius idea.

The Costco/Trader Joe's experiences already have me not using disposable grocery bags.
The "return for a quarter" thing makes sense. There was some grubby dude there following people to put the cart back for them to score the quarter. I think that is what started the whole ghetto vibe I got. If it were in a better neighborhood (like my local Trader Joe's), I'd probably come away with a different opinion.
I used to be dirt poor. As a teen I was family shopping at stores kinda like this - bag your own groceries, no name brands in the store, be sure to check expiration dates on stuff (obtained after it didn't sell in its prime), etc. The carts were constantly stolen by car-less shoppers too lazy to carry their groceries home. Maybe it was a flashback.
