I just paid $199 - $50 easy rebate at Staples for this. Would have loved to get it for this price with no rebate and no tax! Oh well.

I have set mine up and used it a bit and I think it is a very good printer for the money. You definitely get better output on a better, more expensive printer (like the Minolta 2400DL I've used in the past), but this Samsung is more than adequate for personal and home office use. It is very quiet (quieter than the Samsung ML-2510 mono laser it replaced), reasonably quick, looks great in black (complements my Epson R1900 photo printer nicely) and has a very small footprint for a color laser.

One reason it will be a little slower than a more expensive color laser is that it prints color in 4 passes (one for each color) rather than 1 pass. This can slow down the first print significantly, but it seems like subsequent prints happen more quickly.

Overall, I am very pleased with this machine. Wish it could duplex, but that is a minor inconvenience.

I have this and I like it. It's not for photo printing. Ink jet is still the best for photo printing. I use it to print coupons (legitimate web coupons) because some cashiers think web coupons printed by BW laser printers are PHOTOCOPIES while web coupons printed by color laser printers are NOT photocopies
