I was in my local San Francisco Riteaid and saw this incredible deal on CFLs. Stock up now (and thank PG&E for sponsoring the sale). This is most likely available in SF Bay Area and wherever else PG&E sponsored it, so YMMV.

I think I saw globe type CFLs (the ones that go above the bathroom mirrors) for $5 a pop at other stores. At Riteaid you get them for 25c. I've been using these for the past few months and am very happy.

The 26W regular spiral shaped CFLs are 33c and are the brightest one can get (that I know of at least).

Edit: By popular demand, here's the UPC for the globes: 35279-23120, the receipt, and the overall picture of everything.

Edit #2: the sale is still on and now I saw they have 2-pack 23W DIMMABLE CFLs for 99c. I've never seen dimmable CFLs before, so I think it's even hotter now.

Please add that it's for PG&E coverage area, so it's definitely not for the whole country

Not positive, but I think that would be Pacific Gas & Electric.

Yeah, sorry, this is at least for the Bay Area. YMMV. Either way, the regular price for the 4pk of globe lights is $4, which is still a lot cheaper than other places.

Maybe you should update the header to reflect the YMMV or PG&E consumer areas.

is this good at all stores in the bay area?

Hello OP, thanks for the heads up. I'm in the Central Valley, PG&E is our provider. Our local RiteAid had a couple of PG&E specials, but nothing like this. Could I talk you into posting the UPC numbers of your sale items or a scan of your receipt? Gonna try to price match. Thanks!

Red for asking for green and not updating the header with YMMV or Bay Area, CA only. People will waste a lot of gas looking for these on sale so they won't save energy at all!

Done, thanks. Jeez, calm down people, I had work to go to.

You should really put "PG&E area" rather than YMMV, it saves people from having to click the thread.

Well, according to BubbleDVD, it's not just PG&E area, because he has PG&E and no deal.

Anyway, by popular demand, here's the UPC for the globes: 35279-23120, the receipt, and the overall picture of everything.

Longs has a 4 pack of 100W equivalents for $2 and Costco has a bunch of similar multi pack deals if you live in a PG&E area

An update: the sale is still on and now I saw they have 2-pack DIMMABLE CFLs for 99c. I've never seen dimmable CFLs before, so I think it's even hotter now.

Just for comparison, I paid $10/each for 23W Dimmable fluorescents at Lowes this past weekend, so this is definitely hot. I wish I could get in

I paid $8/each at the local Lowes here last week, it's the cheapest I've seen in the area. WalMart has some for $11 and Target for $13 (these are all single bulb packs).
