Nope! I'm not positive about 8GB though...

Thanks for quick response, but nudder question.. 4gb is SDHC. Will this card-type work in the Canon S2 IS?

Sorry about the confusion. SDHC cards do NOT work on older cameras. Usually, they only accept cards up to 2GB.
You should modify your post to reflect which cards are SD and which are SDHC.

Although your camera can't use SDHC cards, there are 4gb SD cards out on the market. Not all SD cameras can use 4gb cards because the SD specification only officially goes up to 2gb, but your Canon S2 is new enough that it should be able to handle 4gb SD cards just fine.
cnytron1 - The 4GB cards in this thread are SDHC and will not work in your Canon S2 IS. As has been pointed out by AZImortal, 4GB SD cards MAY work, if you can find them, although it would probably be both cheaper and safer to go with two 2GB SD cards instead.
when I try to add the 4GB card I get:
"Sorry, this gift item is part of a promotional special and cannot be manually added to your cart. If you'd like to receive the gift item, please add all required products to your shopping cart."
I'm not able to purchase it.

ditto. the 7.99 shipped price appears to be part of a combo promo. if you manually locate it on the egg, the price is $8.69 + $6.99 shipping.
I went ahead and grabbed the 8gb, thanks op!

You're right. I changed the title now to reflect only the 8GB version.

I located it on there site, right before I first posted, and the price at that time showed $7.99 with free shipping, they must of upped the price and added the shipping, no big deal, I'm going with the 8GB.
thanks OP

If, he can do 4Gb, then 8Gb should be fine because they are SDHC standard.
I think the only time it will not work is, when your device doesnt support SDHC.
When my cell phone came out the max for micro SD card is 2GB, so manual says it only support up to 2Gb.
Later, I found out the cell phone support SDHC, so my 6Gb micro SD works.

I sent them a message about the 4GB SDHC card and you can now add it to the cart and purchase it for the $7.99 with free shipping
