CC has a great deal on the 1080p Panasonic 42 inch plasma.

First, go to this page at Circuit City:

link

Select the TV (on sale for 999.99) and the professional calibration (149.99).

After a 300 dollar price adjustment, the total should be 849.98 (before tax) for both.

Choose "in-store pickup" for the TV. (If you have the TV delivered, add in the delivery cost to the final price.)

Use the coupon code PKACD5EARN (good through Tuesday) to take off another ten percent of the total price.

The total will be 775.98 + tax.

You can choose to have the TV calibrated or not, but you cannot return the calibration unless you take away the discount.

This deal is good only through Tuesday, then it goes back to 849.98 + tax.

Cash Back is available from FatWallet!Circuit City: 2.0% Cash Back » See offers, coupons, ratings, and applicable restrictions. (see conditions)

If you want a bigger tv this deal works on the th46pz85u, th50pz80u, th50pz85u, th50pz800u, and th58pz800u.
The 720p models work as well th42px80u and th50px80u but only a $200 discount on installation.

TH50PZ80U for $1290 after discounts plus you would get 36 months of no interest financing

Wow! Flat out terrific deal.

Edit: Just called my Dad and walked him through the purchase process as he's been looking for a new TV. So incredibly tempted to buy one myself.

I wonder how good the calibration is

If it is comparable to ISF calibration, then this could be the 42" deal of the year.

If its some pimply Circuit City kid with two months experience in 5 different departments...

then the deal would be still be good, just not "deal of the year" caliber

P.S. Didn't mean to offend the pimples by calling them Circuit City

just did a search over at avsforum, this is one of the first threads I read:

http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=1064088&highlight=th42pz80u

Go into: Display Devies > Plasma Flat Panel Displays and do a Forum Search for more opinions.

Price looks great but I have to remind myself it is still a significant amount and that everything else (electronics related) is dropping in price also and there will always be more Hot Deals

Probably not.

Thanks for the deal. Not sure if I'll schedule the calibration, but deal on the TV is tough to beat, 720P plasma for same price (or more) is what I've been seeing.

Discover CashBack probably won't allow any coupon.

Circuit City has that 60 day price guarantee so you could buy it now and if there is a better price on black friday, go back and "TRY" to match it.

$830 delivered... nah. Why do I have to pay for some kid to come to my house if I don't want them to?

I just got an Open box samsung 40" LCD, 1080p from Sam's club for 800$ (LN40A540P2F). Is this a better deal than that? Pls. help. I've only 24 hrs to return (clearance/open box item). Thanks

As explained in the original post

For an additional discount. You can choose not to pay for calibration, and pay more for the TV. You can choose to pay for the calibration, and get the discount and not have it calibrated. You can choose not to buy it at all.

Among all the TV sizes, the 42" one looks to be the best deal.

that depends.

The obvious: The panasonic is cheaper. It is also larger, about 10% more screen area. It will have better black levels.

You get calibration service with the panasonic

Searching at avsforum. Many people say it has problems with red push and some say it has gamma issues

Cons of the Samsung: Do a search at avsforum

Nice deal , but for my area (92584/92562) when I go to checkout with my cart , the CC calibration is taken OFF/OUT of my cart saying "not available for my area" ; which brings the price back up .... wtf ! . Tried mulitple times with the same results ; typical CC crap.

O well , thx anyway op . Nice deal for those that can get it .
