Just picked up a 24" SOYO LCD Monitor at Office Max in Rochester, MN. Original price was $399 they had it marked down to $229 on clearance. Had 2 or 3 more left after I bought one. $245 out the door with tax.

SOYO 26" for $210 last week was a better deal.
actually, this monitor was $210 last week. Last week's price was $280, and they had a 25% off clearance item, so the final price was $210.
Actually, last week it was $279 and every store excluded monitors from 25% off clearance discounts...not to say some people didn't get lucky with a CSR not paying attention though.
26" is a TN panel 160/160 viewing angle where as the 24" Soyo Topaz that is on clearance is an MVA panel with 178/178 viewing angles. IMHO the 26 is not a better deal.
Hey, my manager in Utah said that he checked CA, NY and they still had it at 279 just like he did. Has any one checked for this price outside of MN? Please let me know. Thanks all and OP
I guess I just haven't had good luck I've got 3 of these monitors in the past, and all three had weird issues.
The first one DOA didn't even turn on
The second, dead pixel galore, tried to massage some out, didn't work
The third, better but still had 6+ dead pixels...
Are you sure OP got the MVA type? For me, I was not lucky enough, received a 3ms one with poor viewing angle and had to return it. Waste OM's time/money and my gas.

This is NOT an MVA panel. It's a good price for a TN panel though -- I'd buy one but all my local officemaxes don't clearance LCDs (bastards!)

What does this mean, exactly? I'm looking for a monitor that I will always be right in front of. Are the viewing angles really only important when you are looking from the side? I'd prefer the extra 2" but I don't want to buy less quality, either.
amheck, google the anandtech lcd thread to learn something. There are advantages and disadvantages to both TN, MVA/PVA and IPS.
Omax Associate here,
We've got mega-clearance on these as well in the Rochester, NY region (Inc. Henrietta, Greece, Victor, Canandaigua). Better yet, a careful buyer can get 10% off the display model if it is indeed the last one left. I swiped it as soon as I had the chance, but I was the only one genuinely interested in any of these screens and doubt others will be quite so enthusiastic. (That's about the only real perk of working there
)
Also, the panel was available as both an MVA and a TN during its product lifecycle. Our display model was an MVA panel (you can confirm by viewing the statistics on the box to see if that particular model is a match for either MVA or TN), so I made sure to push the TN we had new in box off as fast as I could and got the display shortly before closing. w00t!
There's also a number of other small displays going on higher level clearance, namely the 22" Widescreen Spectre X22HG-NAGA ($179.99), its 20" sibling (Price unknown), and a Soyo 20.1" widescreen TN ($99.00) and its 19" counterpart ($89.00+tax). These are pretty serious discounts on generally good (though not great) products. None of them are all that remarkable, but at this price they need not be.
Remember, this is highly YMMV, so you might just go off and find some great deals.
This monitor has awesome picture. I have used other brands but this one is very crisp. It has DVI and RGB on board speakers. Dell sells the same size monitor for $500. I did a lot of search and only three brand has picture like this one. This one was the cheapest. Hanns G, Gateway has really good picture but for the price definitly worth the money. No DVI cable.
