For powerline Homeplug fans this can be a very good deal for 2 Ethernet adapters, manufacturer claims that they can go up to 200 mbps (ummmmm, not bad compared to 10/100 cabling). It also has very good reviews online.

Be warned that these are fine for sharing internet, or very basic file sharing, but you're most likely not going to get anywhere near the speeds they suggest. I plugged 2 in in the very same room and only got a 15mbps connection. Putting one downstairs and one upstairs that dropped to 2mbps.
The quality of your home wiring plays a big role I'd imagine, but there's no way you're getting 200mbps (since the ethernet plug is 10/100 anyways)
if these units are nor as good as advertised would this concept work for network video cameras?
i live in a apartment building and i have a garage on 6 stories below, about 70 feet straight line but plenty of apartments and walls in between.
i want to place some kind of a camera system in there so i can monitor and be alerted if anyone is going in or breaking in. i am not directly above it,
i am not sure wifi would work
think it would work or should i try wifi
