Was debating purchasing Yukon Express 700-Piece Building Logs Set last week when the price was $34.99 per set with free shipping. Was going to use the BML promo for $15 statement credit with a $30 purchase (look for the BML banner ad.) So the net purchase would have been around $20 for one set.

Price dropped to $19.99 a few days ago (still with FS.)

There is a coupon code that expires tomorrow ETCAYK98 which takes 25% off for a $100+ Yukon Express or Yukon Village order.

There also is a magazine rebate of $9.97 or a 1 year subscription of Family Fun Magazine with a $35 purchase.

I finally decided to make the purchase as follows:

5 Yukon Express 700-Piece Building Logs Set* $99.95

* This item qualifies for Free Standard Shipping.
Total: $99.95
____________________________________________________________________________

Product Total: $99.95
Discount: -$24.99
Sales Tax: $0.00
Shipping Costs (including $51.85 discount): $0.00
__________________________
Grand Total: $74.96

So $74.96 minus $15 BML promo minus $9.97 magazine rebate makes each of these sets about $10!

Either my kids are going to have a log cabin metropolis or several of our friends' kids will be playing with these logs after the holidays. Unless my wife decides that these aren't any better than spatulas!

Hurry if you care to duplicate my order because the 25% code expires on 11/17.

Just FYI, the logs are plastic, not wood.

Not TCing, just want you to be aware in case you're expecting Lincoln Log type items.

I'm not so sure about the plastic/wood construction. I saw where the description lists plastic as the material, but all the other items in the Yukon Village/Express line seem to be all wood.

I'll report back after I receive my order.

Yeah, but if you check out the reviews on A-zon, one mentions wood splinters:

Wow, you can't get more logs than this set. I've never seen a set as big as this. They are NOT Lincoln Logs, but they come close. There are 700 pieces, which you could make a whole village as with Lincoln Logs, you can only make basically the same cabin. BORING! I loved my Lincoln Logs, but I wish, I could have had as many logs as this set. Unfortunately, I found several pieces with splinters / chips of the wood peeling. I don't ever recall that with my Lincoln Logs. It was a good buy for the price though. This definitely has to be used by a child that knows better than putting things in their mouth and it's a nice set if you just get rid of a few that may have chips in the logs. Other than that minor flaw, they are very nice. My nephew has them and absolutely loves to build with them. This set weighs a ton, so I would recommend getting a big rubbermaid type container that is on wheels, so your child can move them around easily. Enjoy, but be careful to inspect them before letting a small child play with them.

While the other review mentions plastic"

These are just as good of quality as the new plastic Lincoln Logs but with the old classic style. They are not lincoln logs but they are the best buy for your buck. My girls spend hours building homes for their littlest pet shop animals. They love the Yukon Express Logs. They are great!

I'm hoping that they are made of wood but apparently even some Lincoln Logs are made of plastic these days.

Remember, the coupon code expires today!

in for 1 for my 2 and 4 yr olds. i actually hope they are plastic, because the 2 yr old is a thrower! im sure the 4 yr old wants plastic too as at least once a day he gets hit upside the head with something.

Received these yesterday...

Definitely NOT real wood. Might be composite wood? If not, then it's plastic.

All in all, a real nice set that my kids (and others) are going to love playing with. Not quite the same as the Lincoln Logs of my youth but a great deal nonetheless.

EDIT: Stopped by TRUs to pick up a couple of things and checked out "real" Lincoln Logs while I was there. They seem to be comparable to the Yukon Logs. Maybe I'm just not familiar with what wood feels like?

If anybody cares, the $15 BML credit posted to my account today even though I wasn't a "new" BML customer. I was "new" as far as using it at eToys though.

Thanks for the heads up. Time to e-mail for a refund.

Wonder why they keep dropping the price so rapidly (50 to 35 to 20 to 15 to ???) in just the past week or so.

On Friday night the website says "ships FREE via Standard Shipping" but it persisted in charging me $9.35 for standard shipping. I emailed. On Saturday, the Free Shipping is removed from this item. BEWARE - 4.38 on Resellers Ratings, and maybe that's too high.
