Is $200 a good deal for a new Tomtom 920?

1) I have heard that TomTom uses TeleAtlas, whereas Magellan and Garmin use NAVTAQ for maps. I have heard NAQTAQ is substantially better for the US. Can anyone confirm/deny this?

2) I have heard that TomTom is ranked 3rd, for other reasons, behind Magellan & Garmin. Can anyone confirm/deny this?

3) Can anyone give insight into how dated the pre-loaded maps are on this device? Can you upgrade to new maps for free?

Actually, it's "Navteq".. but my question still stands. Appreciate the comments!

Here is the answer for your still-stood question:
NAVTAQ in the TomTom and NAVTAQ in the Magellan and Garmin are the same because they are both NAVTAQ.

Is this TomTom or Garmin 650 better? They both have text to speech and same sized screens. Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks

In 2008, TeleAtlas > Navteq (this wasn't the case in previous years)

Google recently switched entirely to TeleAtlas.
