Hottest deal I've seen for a GTX 260. List price is $220, has a $40 rebate and a $10 coupon code.

Here's the link to the card:

Here's the link to the $40 rebate:

Here's the coupon code:
VGA111810

It also comes with free standard shipping. Register with eVGA to receive a free copy of Far Cry 2. One other thing worth noting is that this is the older version of the GTX 260, so it comes with 192 processor cores instead of 216. It's still a great deal though. Don't forget 1% FatCash.

Ripped from SD.

I just had to post this. Most people probably won't get it though.

I haven't seen any good prices on any video cards in several weeks. I think that this is going to tell us what Christmas will be like.

But it is the older 260GTX. This one has the original 192 processors instead of the newer one that has 216. Nvidia bumped it up a little because the cheaper HD4870 was kicking its ........

It is humorous that is about it though. The accuracy/relevance is pretty terrible.

The rebate expired on 11/4 according to a posting on SD.

edit: I meant the rebate, not coupon

Good from 11/1/08 to 11/30/08 if you read the info posted at the link. What you get for reading SD and not checking. Go back to SD you belong there.

According to SD the rebate SAYS it is valid until the 30th but according to the REBATE PROCESSING SITE the rebate expired on the 4th. Go check it for yourself (I just did) and it did indeed expire on the 4th so take your own advice (long walk, short pier)...

Well Ive been keeping track of this deal at both FW and SD , primarily because of the different info about the rebate . Seems SD is correct about the rebate being expired according to the rebate number at Worldwiderebates.com .

Go to World Wide Rebate who is the processing house for this rebate

www.worldwiderebates.com and enter the Rebate Offer Number EGA-6163
this is the offer number on the rebate form .

Rebate Expired 11/4/2008 .

Not sure what the deal is really considering the rebate itself does state its good till 11/30 . However , with Worldwiderebates handling this rebate and not Newegg , it seems that its a good possiblility you will never recieve the rebate . Not sure who screwed up on this deal (rebate) , but this is probably why Newegg pulled the rebate from the Evga GTX260 product page .

This is primaraly why Ive waited on pulling the trigger on this deal ....rebate was questionalble from the start ; and $40 is nothing to sneeze at , although its still a decent deal on a 260 without the rebate .

A posting on Hardforums is showing that one way or another Newegg will make good on the $40 rebate. I have no way to verify this though so I would contact a Newegg CSR if you have purchased the card or are thinking about doing so.

Newegg no longer lists the rebate, so the price now is essentially what it was last week, but without the hassle of a rebate. I have the card and am quite pleased with it. And btw, it will fit in an Inspiron 530 case but makes the 2nd hard drive mounting spot unusable. You'll also need a different power supply.

Check out the prices on the rest of the EVGA 260 GTX line... the 216 Core and the 216 Core superclocked are all around $50 off "weekend special it says".... that puts the 216 Core Superclocked at $244... +free shipping and Farcry2... Best part is, in the tests I've seen the only single config. cards that beat it are the GTX 280's and the ATI 4870X2, both of which are over $400..

NEWEGG $244

I hope you mean 4870 and not the dual GPU 4870X2? Do use the new 180.XX drivers if you game.

The new 260 gtx Core 216 appears to be quite faster than the ATI 4870 1gb and 512MB editions in nearly every current generation game test.

Check it: http://www.bjorn3d.com/read.php?cID=1414

As mentioned, I'm sure that this GPU will outperform everything except the 4850X2, 4870X2, and the GTX 280 series. These, as mentioned are in the $350 - $400+ range.

I also believe the new MSRP is around $250 or so.

Check Buy.com for example

According to the review of the XFX Black Edition on OCC, the new 216's can hang with the X2's until you get into the higher resolutions... and considering I could buy 2 of the EVGA Superclocked 260 core 216's for less than one of the X2's it's gotta be the best deal for your money around.

OCC XFX review

I know this isn't the same card, but the reviews of the superclocked EVGA that I linked are on par with this XFX... and with the Newegg deal right now the EVGA is $50 cheaper than the XFX card.

Just ordered the Superclocked version from the link I posted above.

The Superclocked version of that same card is at Newegg for cheaper than the regular version at Buy, but for this weekend only I think... check the link I posted above. I went ahead and bit on it. Too good of deal to pass up. $55 cheaper than it was a few days ago!
