Read the fine print on the coupon, there are many things/departments that are not eligible.

if you see JCP receipts, it takes such discounts out of individual items.. So, if you combine items then it will take out $10 from the items which are eligible...
For example, lets see if you bought $10 in restricted items and $15 in unrestricted items.. then $10 off $25 will be taken out of the $15 purchases....

I usually buy clothing with these coupons. The 10/10's are nice for free sox and undies.

Have you tried this? With your example, it's like 66% off the $15. It will be really hot.
