Thanks! I use stevia to sweeten my hot & iced teas. I'm going to try the lime and strawberry drink mixes.

Green for you and for natural alternative sweeteners!

how does Stevia compared to Sweet-n-low or Splenda, or Equal? How does one bottle compare to lets say a 100 packets box servings wise?

What they don't tell in that article is that Stevia is sold as a dietary supplement (and not a food additive) because of the influence that the manufacturers of chemical-sweeteners have over the FDA. It isn't dangerous to consume Stevia like the FDA wants people to believe.

Imagine the impact that Stevia could have if people found out how much safer it is to consume and how easy it is to produce. I'm hoping that someday we'll see Coke or Pepsi flavored with Stevia.

Its not a toxic chemical proven to cause brain damage, inhibited learning, ADD and ADHD, early onset Alzheimers and (most importantly to all FW'ers) hospital bills later on.

Stevia is 300 times sweeter than sugar, ergo you use less and it goes a looooong way. It also modulates blood sugar for those who have glycemic issues and want to get their blood clean...

Simple - Stevia is not a poison like the others you've mentioned.

I'm not asking about safety, I'm asking about price/servings economics wise.

Are there any brands available that don't have an aftertaste?

I've never tried Stevia, but would like to stop using Splenda and Equal.

Coke's already on it. They're buying as many sources as possible. It's going to take a lot of plants to produce the amount needed to convert their entire production.

Xylotol and erythritol taste better but they cost more.

The bitter aftertaste isn't necessarily due to the brand. You get the bitterness from using too much of it. It only takes a tiny pinch to get a LOT of sweetness. I used to put 5 or 6 regular sugar packets in a single 8-ounce cup of hot tea. Now I use a tiny scoop of Stevia instead and it's just right. You have to experiment with it and find the amount that works for you.

The brand that I use is made by NOW Foods. You can find it in Whole Foods stores. See the attachment for a picture of the bottle. It comes with a tiny scoop in it that measures the perfect amount for a cup of tea or coffee (at least to me it's the perfect amount).

On a side note, I haven't tried using it in food yet but I read that it doesn't carmalize like sugar when heated up, so you can't use it as a replacement in everything.

Yes, alcohol sugars taste better but they can have nasty side effects if you use too much or use it too often - a laxative effect, stomach cramping, and gas are the usual side effects. Maltitol is especially known for it's side effects. I found this out the hard way after buying some protein bars that contain Maltitol instead of regular sugar. Ugh.. I thought I had food poisoning or something.

I heartily recommend agave as a sweetener over stevia.
