I think the draw back is non TTS. For $99 you can get a Garmin GPS with TTS.

GPS drops down to $50? insane. Same time last yr I thought getting a GPS at $99 was good.

It's always better to get the lesser known brands of GPS. TomTom, Garmin satellites are on the verge of overloading from all of the GPS units they have in use. After Christmas, when even millions more are turned on by peoples out there, the satellites will overload, much like a server on website that gets to many hits. When that happens, they easily fall out of orbit and crash to earth. I read an expensive article about it. If you get a GPS unit you should get a Nextar or one like this Sanyo or even a Bluetooth model.
Also, some of these block the government signals for E-Z pass and then you cannot go over bridges or get the signals in tunnels or walking in cities where tall buildings exist.
The big satellite companies like Garmin and TomTom don't want you to know these facts and will protect these secrets at all costs.
Buyer beware!

ha ha. This is the most noob reply I have ever heard. Tom Tom and Garmin's Satellite overloading?!! . Sorry if every gps maker had to have their own satellite systems, you won't be able to see the MOON. There is just one satellite system owned by US gov.

Ha ha second joke, so i guess, if satellites overload, they become heavy and start getting out of control. So they crash and burn. . I really hope you don't in believe what you write.

The cheaper GPSs all sound the same. They recorded my nagging wife's voice. Who needs the constant sound of a back seat driver? Pay more.

This is like the radiostation overloading with too many people turning on the radio.

I think it's more like the really bad comedian who keeps going with a bad joke thinking that it can magically turn funny, instead of getting off stage before the tomatoes hit him..

What's going on, guys? Just google the model NVM-4030, the price range for this baby is between $200 and $300, not a cheap one. I have never seen a GPS with bluetooth below $100. BTW, Sanyo is not a lesser known brand.
