Thanks OP! In for 2...this was exactly what I was looking for to go with the 50" Panasonic Plasma I bought yesterday. It sure beats the $60 Monster one that the store was pushing.

Not a good idea to use this with your plasma or ht components. Based on the specs, or lack thereof, I'd connect this to noncritical loads only, such as lamps, etc. This is just a power strip (fuse). Don't expect it to "save" your tv from anything.

In for 2. I also used a $10 off coupon for being a Woot "Charter Member" bringing the total to $14.98 for two. Thanks, OP.

Does anyone have any recommendations for an inexpensive protector for a plasma?

TIA

Philips seems confident. Are you serious?

Nothing in that list indicates any real protection.

Instead of thread crapping, how about making a recommendation then...

I second that.

People on SD seam pretty confident this is suitable for a 50" plasma.

Please advise if you have an alternative provided it's not 4x the cost.

I wouldn't mind the 1M$ if my TV gets fried.

I'm thread crapping because I'm trying to help?...because I'm trying to keep you from doing something stupid like plugging in your plasma into a $10 power strip? All I said was use it for non-critical loads, as a power strip. Any recommendation would be thread crapping because it would be off topic and irrelevant to the OP's post -- apples and bowling balls.

So, basically you are saying we need to plug our Plasmas into $300 Monster MP-HTFS1000 surge protectors/power conditioners? I'm just waiting on an alternative suggestion from you...IMO it is thread crapping if you don't back up your reasoning with an alternative deal. Honestly I am a newbie to this and didn't see a difference between this and the RCA/Monster "power strips" that the electronics store had. I just did a quick search and found these power conditioners with surge protection that run $200-$300. I guess I am just trying to understand what you are suggesting as a better alternative.

OP here...please, you have my permission to "thread crap" and give us an alternative

You're entitled to your opinion, and plugging in your plasma to this fuse if you want.

Where did I mention monster? No, I'd say never a monster, nor their cables for obvious reasons. I use a Belkin PF60, but again, apples and oranges. There are many other capable units out there, just not for $10. There is no $10 tvss. There just isn't.

Not thread crapping, didn't red the post. As I said, I'd get them if I needed to plug in some lamps.
