Canon770IS and 1100IS are for different customers. IMO, 770IS is a high-end product. well-design and well-made. while 1100IS must be driven by cost, kind of plastic toy, even though it's under the SDxx family. SDxx family are all slim design, very compact, using built-in Li-on battery. Axxx, in contrast, IMO, are low-end products. A570, A590, even A720 are exact plastic toys made by Canon. If you use them, you will experience your first pain, very-low battery life. I mean very very short. They all use two AA battery, so IMO, that's a design mistake. i.e. sacrifice battery size (from 4xAA to 2xAA) for compact size. A6xx using 4xAA doesn't have this problem, A610, A630, A650... but they are bulky. If size is not a concern, S5 is a good one. otherwise, SDxx is a good choice. |
