Cannot comment on the watch market... MISURICK said:BubbleSparkxx said:Excellent price for a classic watch. Those who gave OP red doesn't understand the value of this timepiece / jewelry. This is not a timex. Seems like Linkazon is an Amazon reserved URL/website. |

This is basically the old Heuer 1000 design, which may be the lowest cost of ownership watch in history (while looking like a Rolex). Buy one on eBay for $200, put in a new battery every other year, and when you decide to sell it you get your full purchase price back + inflation. The mineral crystal never scratches, the stainless body will last forever, and the quartz movement is bulletproof. Hard to beat. |
Nothing against the tag brand. In fact I have a tag 6000 auto myself, but IMHO if you're going to spend $700+ on a watch at least make it an automatic watch, not a quartz. If you're just getting into watch collecting check out the Hamilton automatic line of watches. With the eBay live cb of 30% you can get a really nice one. |
Got this watch 3 years ago for the same price. Interesting enough it has appreciated in value. Was around 1000 msrp now it looks to be 1400. Most watches you can get on sale for 30% if you do your homework. Perhaps with the recession, that rule is 30% of 2005 prices. By the way, i love this watch. built solid, i wear it 24/7. |

If I only pay $200, why do I care if I get my full money back later? I'm typing this on a laptop I paid $1000 on, and I'll never get most of that money back. And yet I still manage to cry myself to sleep at night. How about if I instead buy a watch a like and a couple gold bars? That seems like a good investment too. Quartz is nice. My friend who used to sport a Tag automatic got tired of getting it cleaned and fixed every couple years, so he switched to a Citizen Eco-Drive quartz a year back. Good looking watch (which is rather rare for a Citizen), and it doesn't even require you buy batteries. It also has a very low cost of ownership. |
