Sorry, but this is getting to be like everyone posting 'deals' at Amazon including the $30 for signing up for a credit card with them. I had actually picked up a 904HA a while back using the same deal as suggested in the overall eBay/live.com thread.

What eBay item have you found that has 30%?

this deal looks good, but i'm new at this live.com thing. what do you do to get this deal? followed the steps from op but no luck...

This is getting a bit old. You could create thousands of posts for any number of eBay items that can be purchased at a discount using the MS CB promotion. A number of different threads has already been created JUST for eee PCs.

On another note ... the model posted by the OP is basically a toy. Before you go and buy a eee PC (even using the MS CB discount) do your research first. Go to BB and actually touch/feel the model or size you want to buy. I did so and found that the 8.9" models and below are basically toys with VERY small keys, too tiny to be of much use. The 10" models (like the Asus 1000 series) are a little larger but are very usable with 95% sized keyboards.

This is the lowest price for this model, but feel free to dig through pages and pages of eBay thread.

And you should do your research.

This is the same case, same keyboard as the 1000h

Same size case smaller screen

Specs instead of speculation

I have to disagree. I have a 900ha 8.9" eee pc, and in no way, shape, or form is it a toy. It may not be my personal choice for typing a college paper, but it MORE than meets my needs for replying to e-mails, web-surfing, downloading pics, etc. It is EXCELLENT to take along on vacations, even trips to the hospital when you must stay a while. It fits in my purse and only weighs a couple of lbs., MUCH nicer than lugging a huge laptop around!

If you are wanting to type or be a data-entry operator then no, I wouldn't recommend it. But it's great for everything else.

Don't the specs for the ATOM processor indicate that it's akin to the PENTIUM III processor in processing power, just a smaller footprint for these netbooks? I think that a PIII is plenty power to surf, e-mail, and do basic word processing (and movie watching?).

I don't think that this is meant to run any major applications/games. Probably suites travelers, students (to do light tasks like term papers, etc), and the grandparents (with good vision) well.

Worked for me. Can't beat this for $230.

Here's how I did it in case this helps somebody else... First searched "cheap wii" at search.live.com... Then saw the CashBack icon (a gold round coin next to one of the search results from eBay)... Clicked that... Then once on eBay, searched there for 904HA... then modified results for only seller "zzfshopper"... then clicked to buy. THEN... followed the instructions to set up my Live.com CashBack account with my existing live.com email address (you could use your existing Hotmail email address as well). It takes a few minutes, but it went swimmingly finally.

I just got through but the CB was not instant. Is this the case? It does show up in my CB acct as pending.

Mine is also pending...

Still better than submitting a rebate tho.

"
You're eligible for US $0.00 CashBack!
Your Microsoft CashBack will be available in your PayPal account in approximately 60 days, subject to conditions.
"
althought it was $98 CashBack upto the confirm order page.. wtf?

how can I check if it went through properly?

I did get the $98 Cash Back reward email but when I log in, it still says $0 ???

Check your CashBack account at live.com and you should see it pending. You should have also received a confirming email on the CashBack amount from Microsoft. It took about half an hour or so for me to see it pending and receive the email. You also get an email from eBay referring to the CashBack after the transaction.

May I ask how does this compare to Acer Aspire One? I bought the 3-cell, 120GB version back in July. This EEE deal seems to be a better than the deal on other thread for the 6-cell, 160GB version Acer at $329.
