TigerDirect.com has the Eee PC 901 for just $349 plus $1.99 shipping through Monday, as well as 15% Live CashBack.

You can get 15% back from Microsoft by going to http://search.live.com/results.aspx?q=tigerdirect&go=&form=QBRE and then clicking on the TigerDirect link. Enter your email in the form, and then when you get to TigerDirect search for A455-8003 for black and A455-8007 for white

After the $52.50 Cash Back from Microsoft, the final price is $299.48, which is more than 50% off the list price!

This is a great value for the Eee PC 901, which is one of only two Eee PC models to come with a 6-cell battery, Atom Processor, SSD, and Bluetooth (and the ONLY model to have those features plus 802.11n compatability).

Do yourself a favor and get a 10" netbook! I have an 8.9" and it's great, but darn hard to type on.

The SSD is nice, but really..... Why pay more for less... go for the 160gb spin drives in the 900 or 1000 series... and get them cheaper.

You can upgrade to Vista easier on the larger drives too.

I didn't notice much difference between the keyboard on the 8.9" and the 10.2" versions, and the only 10.2" model with a 6-cell battery, Atom Processor, Bluetooth, and 802.11n is the 1000H which starts at $450.

love my 901, I upgraded to 2 gig and added 80 gig hard drive and it rocks, very easy to carry around, long battery life, and with 80 gig and 16 gig sd card I’m set. The size is perfect for me. i have 15inch laptop at work and a 17 inch one at home and I always lean toward my eee pc. Why carry a big laptop to do a PowerPoint when this baby will work perfectly.

I have the 900HA and it has the 4 cell... It gets many hours of battery life, the 6 cell will eek out maybe 30 min - 1 hour more. If you wanna pay that much extra for a battery and a tiny hard drive, have fun. It just doesn't seem worth it to me. I got a micro Bluetooth dongle for $4 and it works great with my BT mouse..

I just purchased an U100 MSI Wind yesterday and gonna try that out.... Live.com through eBay has 30% CashBack right now.

These are my toys, I can't really do any actual work on them for extended time, unless you want to go blind and get arthritis, that's what my real 15" laptop is for. But these are great to take to class or travel...

Head on over to: http://forum.eeeuser.com/

If you install Vista on them, here is a fix for a driver issue that will drive you nuts: http://gekko.me/acpi.php

The 904hd was a better deal at $60 less off eBay, and with 25% off and the additional 10% on eBay you can get this for around $270ish.

The 8.9" is much lighter.

SSD is lighter, if you drop it, it does not brake, and who needs a large disk on the laptop anyway. I keep all my large files on the desktop.

Vista sucks anyway. I would put Linux on it.

Why all this red? I hope it is not for the model as in my opinion this model is the best of the EEE PC. Has the biggest battery and it is among the lightest in the series -- the most important two things for a laptop, in my opinion.

The other things like HDD size or screen size are important for desktops but not for laptops.

I would almost get it if they had the 20GB Linux model on sale also.
(Why did you give this guy red anyway.)

Anyway, thanks OP.

The 904HD is one of the worst Eee models -- it is the size of the 10.1" models but only has an 8.9" screen. Either get an 8.9" model that takes advantage of the small screen size or get a 10.1" model that takes advantage of the larger chassis size.

Also, in addition to being bigger than the 901, the 904HD has a Celeron Processor instead of an Atom (much worse for battery life and performance), has no bluetooth, has a much worse webcam, and weighs 25% more.

If you really want to cheap out, you can get this Everex Cloudbook for $248.48 after Live CashBack. If you want the advantages of an Atom processor, 6-cell battery, SSD, Bluetooth, and a weight of only 2.5lbs for only $30 more than the 904HD eBay deal, go with the 901.

It appears that the deal is still alive for Cyber Monday.
