Been searching for best price on this block set and found this 8 piece block set for $110.00. Cooks illustrated routinely rates this product as its best knives and bought my set in Spring and love it. Buying a couple more for family. |

If I didn't already own 3 of the pieces in this set (chefs, slicer, paring), I'd be all over this. Finding a block with slots that fit Forschner chef's knives is a pain in the ass. I ended up buying an empty block from BB&B and taking a hand saw to it to widen the slots for the chef's/slicer knives. |

I've probably posted something similar to this message every time a Forschner deal pops up... These are, without a doubt, the best value cutlery available. And by value I don't mean just cheap - but top quality. There used to be a small cutlery shop on Columbus Ave in San Francisco. When I got my 1st own apt. I walked in there and asked to buy the best 8" chef's knife he had, - and he had a lot of brands, many high priced. After showing me a few of them he told me to save my money and to buy the Forschners. That was a couple of decades ago, and it's still my go-to knife. |

Same set at Amazon is selling for #132.67 with free shipping. Allsparetools.com charges $12.85 shipping to my zip for a net price of $122.85 for a savings of about $10 right now (but with ground shipping instead of Prime's 2-day) Looks like the historical low: $99.46 (Amazon.com on 2008-01-06) Decent knives for a decent price but this deal isn't earth shaking. Thanks anyways OP. |

These are great knives. Though I also have some nice Wusthoff knives from an Amazon closeout, the Forschner 5-inch mini chef's knife is my all around favorite. Good prices on the individual knives, though shipping seems kinda high if you just need one. |
