not bad, but seems to be a mediocre price in comparison to other resellers |
$99.99 at OfficeMax Text Wait I see it for $99.99 at J&R and 3 other stores. |
Digital Image Stabilization....Pass...there are 2 types of stabilization...optical and digital...optical is the only way to go. Keep an eye out for the Canon A590IS...picked up one of these for 101.00 w F/S from Newegg yesterday and it is optical stabilization...for those needing further expalantion, optical stabz is done by moving the actual lens inside the camera to reduce camera shake (like a gyro), and digital stabz is done by playing with the pixels of the image sensor...this method produces a distorted image. There are a lot of cameras that utilize digital stabz and it is best to stay clear of them unless your ALWAYS shooting in BRIGHT sunlight. |
just got a kodaz z1085is for $105 on eBay after Live and I'm very happy with it. Great value (you have to buy battery b/c Kodak only include a non-chargable) heck they didn't include anything.... But I'm very happy with it. Optical stabz like AFineMess mention, Tahe HD video (1280x720) let you zoom while doing so-very rare. Outside picts are beautiful. inside picts are good with flash/ ok w/o flash(a little gainy) My HD video with only birthday candles as lighting source came out great. Reviews mentioned its a little slow but it feel very speedy to me may be I haven't update my canera for a while and others camera has leap in the speed department. I haven't have to wait for it yet. It save video as quicktime mov and Quicktime play those on my computer with tons of stutter, imagine a little camera can take movie that bog down a 3Gz AMD !?! I try VLC and the videos play smoothly with no hickcup. Beat Apple in their own game. Everyone just imaze at the video that this camera take. My computer is hookup to a 46" lcd. |
I got this camera "on sale" at Staples for 99.00 f/s and I used a $20.00 off coupon code. Sweet deal for 79.00, and 8MP camera. Then Officemax has the memory cards on sale for $7.99 1GB, and I had a printed coupon $10 off any $20 in store purchase. I had to get 3 to use the coupon, but I'll sell on of the cards on eBay. |
