Thanks, let's see if Parallel Desktop and their new version 4 is going to do the same thing.

OP, clarify your title to include fusion. VMWare by itself could mean any of their products.

Amazon is currently selling VMware Fusion 2.0 for this price. Link

The price is good until Dec 1.

Wish I could get Workstation for that price

Good deal for Mac Addicts

FWIW The same coupon code in the VMware Fusion page linked by the Original Poster will drop VMware Workstation by 25%; from $189 to $141.25. I must say I was hoping for a 50% discount for VMware Workstation . Amazon sells an "academic" license of VMware Workstation 6 for $125 and a "standard" license for $199.

VirtualBox

FREE. I use it on Linux after being a slave for 8 Years to VMWare. Good Riddence!

The binaries in this section are all released under the VirtualBox Personal Use and Evaluation License (PUEL). By downloading, you agree to the terms and conditions of that license.

* VirtualBox 2.0.6 for Windows hosts x86 | AMD64 (only on Windows x64!)

* VirtualBox 2.0.6 for OS X hosts Intel Macs

* VirtualBox 2.0.6 for Linux hosts

* VirtualBox 2.0.6 for Solaris and OpenSolaris hosts x86 | AMD64

* VirtualBox 2.0.6 Software Developer Kit (SDK) All platforms

* VirtualBox older builds

See the changelog for what has changed.

Note of interest:

I tried to use both Virtual PC 2007 and Virtual Box to see if we could load our company's Windows product and BOTH failed to work after installation at different points. Loaded it on a Mac under VMware and it worked like a charm. Goes to show that Windows is still not insulated from the virtual machine as much as people are led to believe.
