Usually the refurb 30gb can be had for around $99 (when on sale), considering that
$20 more for an additional 30gb is pretty good price for a video capable model.

I am pretty sure this will sell out fast.

The other refurb ipods Buy.com has been selling come with a 90 day distributor warranty, not an apple warranty.

For 60GB, seems like a good deal..

iPod 5G headphone out jack is sub-par, as mentioned (I've owned one, so I know from first-hand experience). The Fuze, on the other hand, has great sound quality out of the box. You can mod the iPod to take a line-out cable / headphone amp, and it will sound great. But that's extra $.

I think you may have misread this. The largest fuze is 8gb. This is a 60gb ipod. 8gb would hold most of my music. 60 gigs holds all of my music and a good number of movies and tv shows.

I'm not saying the fuze isn't a good product. I'm sure it's fantastic. But these are different product categories.Yes, that's true indeed that these are different product categories. Yet, my assumption is that the one feature that's mostly desired and is/should be on top of the list is the audio quality. In that aspect alone, there is no comparision b/w the 2 as the Sandisk is vastly superior. In fact, Sandisk does not make media players that use mechanical and magnetic storage discs. Which is why you won't find high capacities like this iPod. But what is the use of 60GB of storage on a product that delivers sub-par sound ? Is it that since you are getting a whopping 60GB of storage space and a cool brand like the Ipod, that you are willing to put up with lower audio quality ? Especially on a media player ? Anyways, I don't intend to turn this into an argument - all I am saying, quantity should not trump quality. EVER. This would be like comparing a good restaurant to an all-you-can-eat buffet

Anybody know what the warranty is?
Keep in mind this is not the 5.5 generation with the brighter screen and better battery life

I do a lot of international flying. When you're looking at twenty hours of flight time to south asia, with a connection after that, every few weeks, you want a lot of variety at your fingertips. And considering even with noise reducing headphones there's always the dull whine of the engines in the background, i don't think the difference in quality will make that much of a difference. So yeah, quantity CAN trump quality. It's about convenience in the real world, not theoretical bests.

The argument about "quality vs quantity" is ridiculous.
I have had both, and the sandisk does have better quality...but most people cant tell. In fact, I would be willing to bet that most people have almost their entire MP3 collection in 128kbit.

As far as comparing an ipod to a fuze...are you insane?
One is a harddrive based player and the other is a pocket flash player.
Any choice is going to entirely depend on the user.

Want to use your mp3 player at the gym? Dont buy a hdd player
Want to use your mp3 player as a portable hdd? dont buy a flash player
Want to carry 30+ gigabytes of music? dont buy a flash player

I understand that you love your sandisk, but it is entirely irrelevant.
I love my netbook, but I wouldn't tell someone who is planning on buying a $1000+ desktop PC to avoid the hassle and just buy a netbook
