Was just at my local HD, saw the Cordless Solaris Lawn Mover reduced from $499 to $200

Saw this at SD last month, none in my area. Would have been a hot deal if I could find one.
Just my two cents worth. Cordless electric mowers are such a great idea, but are all badly hobbled by the limitations of current battery technology. I've owned two. They are all underpowered compared to their gas-driven counterparts. Short run times (typically 45 minutes at full power) = only for small lawns, clunky to maneuver due to their heavy batteries and lack of self-propulsion, slower blades and smaller cutting swath means somewhat less effective mulching, and forget about cutting into neglected 6" tall grass in a single pass. Plus they tend to take a long time to recharge (18 hours or more in some models). If you can live with those facts, they are blissfully quiet, easier to maintain (provided you get one where you can change the battery yourself) and arguably less polluting.

FYI: This unit is 21" ( same as most walk behinds on the market) and is self propelled (although that probably drains battery faster). I'm sure it would seem grossly underpowered compared to a 6HP gas powered Honda, but that's to be expected....
